Old activity programme

Time changes and so also the activities. Last years we changed the activities up to the need of our guests. However less people where interested to join the games. So we deceided to stop the activities for 2009 and go "back to basic". Underneath you can see how we did this in former days. Maybe this time will come again ...

In former days: all kinds of nice activities are organised on de Steppe. Our recreation team ensures that kids as well as grown-ups have a good time. On week days there generally is a morning activity for the smallest children. At noon the older children and adults are also welcome to join the activities. The evening programme is for the entire family.

Some of the many summer activities:
On Fridays (day of arrival for the guests of our holiday cottages) a ball game is organised for the children. This way they can quickly meet and greet the other children. A good beginning!
If our visitors are interested, a jeu boules-competition is set up. Participants subscribe and are subsequently classified in a poule. During the entiry week the games are played.

On Saturdays there is a air castle all day on the terrace at the canteen. Children can live it up there, whereas the parents can enjoy a refreshing drink on the terrace.

Some morning activitities :
Floor chalking: the terrace at the children's animal farm gets drawed upon.

Handicrafts: in a prepared recreation room all kinds of handicraft materials are present.

Morning gymnastics: get out of bed early, and start your exercises immediately to stretch your muscles! After that you can enjoy several gymnastics games.

In the afternoon, some activities are:

Baking pancakes: when the weather is nice, we bake pancakes in the afternoon. The children pay a small compensation and can then eat as many pancakes as they want. They can add treacle, jam or sugar. All children also get a glass of 'ranja' (syrup-drink). There are always a few parents willing to assist the children with the baking.

Spunge game: What's better than playing with water when the sun is shining? The spunge game is the best. The object of the game is to get as much water to the opposite site of the field using soaked spunges.
Volley ball: on the volley ball field we play a game of volley ball. Generally we split the players in a group for kids and a group for the rest..
Six-in-a-row: on the soccer field a track is prepared for six different games.
Soccer: everybody wants to play soccer..!
Soap game: on the soccer field a sail is stretched and is rubbed in with slippery soap. Water, a rugby ball, and clothes that can get wet..! You are sure to have fun..

Theme game: a game is created for a certain topic, for example the wild west, survival, or circus. That whole day the activities are fit to this topic.

In the evening, some of the activities are:
Bingo: In the canteen this popular game is played. There are nice prices for children and for the adults.

Dropping: when darkness sets in, the participants are blindfolded as they are brought to a secret place somewhere in the neighbourhood of de Steppe. From there they have to find their way back to de Steppe.
Instead of a dropping there sometimes is a search-game. By help of a walking plan and lots of clues and tasks along the way you have a nice hike in the vicinity of de Steppe.

Beer tap game: sometimes, the disco night is combined with a beer tap game. A professional 'Heineken'-employee accompanies the beer serving participants.

Disco night: a week night is usually musical. A disc-jockey sees to a nice evening for young and old. Generally we start with music and dance for the smallest children. Later on, it is also possible to mime or dance.

Evening games: in and around the canteen, a track is prepared for six different games.
Playing cards, darts, billiards e.g.: if desired, a gaming evening is organised with these and several other games.
